T-Cobb's Friday Morning Rant (December 9th)

Well ladies and gentleman, I would like to start my post off by saying "hello friday!!!". Here it is, 1:27 in the morning--and while I have work at five am--I seem to have nothing else better to do than sit on the computer, think about sports, and blog. Most normal people would be asleep, but nahh not me. It's Friday, the start of a three game home stand for the Junior Blues, and a very big opportunity to gain some ground in the division race as we play hosts to the last-place Hitmen from Chicago.
Also, I can't forget to mention that today is pay day--so that very well could be an added-incentive to the reason I am unfortantely amped up so late.

But every now and then I will be slipping a "T-Cobb's Rant" in and just speak my mind about certain sports-related things going on--as well as some Junior Blues hockey--or really just whatever I really feel like getting off my chest or talking about (haha). But I am very blessed and excited to have people following and paying attention to my web site. Any and all feed back is appreciated to the fullest. Also, I attend all home games so if you ever happen to run into me or see me, drop by and give me a shoutout. I love meeting new people, especially hockey fans and people who love talking sports.

Pujols signed a 10-year, $254 million
dollar deal with the Angels
But anyways, Thursday, which is officially yesterday now, was a very disappointing day to myself--and alot of people from around here. Growing up a die-hard Cardinals' fan, I never expected Albert Pujols to leave, and did expect the guy to be a Cardinal for life. But while I am still in shock and disappointed, in the long run, I believe GM Mo did the right thing by not resigning AP at the price the Angels are paying. And while I have always been as big of an AP supporter as any other out there, I just don't think a man at his age--well any age honestly, but especially his--is worth that much money or is that valuable of an asset to any team or business. But as I am saying, this is just my take on it. Pujols has been an icon to me since I was ten or eleven years old and his run with the Cardinals' is history and memories i'll never forget--but with that said, Cardinals baseball will live on--and still succeed, and be better than the Cubbies! ;) haha.
(sorry Cubs' fans, I had to get that one in there)

As we move onto tonight and this weekend's Junior Blues hockey, this is a huge weekend for this team if they want to have any real shot at beginning a run for the MidWest division title. Although we are currently 18 points behind first place St. Louis, six points could be taken this weekend at home. If the Blues can chip away at the lead going game-by-game, the combined ten-matchups that the Jr. Blues have left with both St. Louis and Janesville could definentely put them in a prime position to take over this division.
Jr. Blues head home for a three game
series against the Chicago Hitmen this
weekend starting tonight at 7pm inside
the Nelson Center (Springfield).

I would most certainly love to see the goalies be more consistent this weekend, and shut these Hitmen down inside there own zone. Another problem that we have had lately has been the penalty box, and if they can stay out of the penalty box, they keep the pressure off the goalies and can create more scoring opportunities themselves. I'm excited for this series, and very excited they are playing inside the Nelson Center for three days in a row.

But with all of this said, this was my first official rant. Please feel free to comment on it or critisize it by any and all means. I am very blessed to have followers and this opportunity. Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow night and this weekend out at the Nelson Center! Let's Go Blues!!
