In his second NAHL season, Kyle Cook is growing
Here is a personal warning to the entire North American Hockey League; there's a new chef in town; and he plays Right Wing for the Springfield Junior Blues.
Kyle Cook, the 6-foot-4' inch, 215 pound Right Wing from Cleveland, Ohio isn't just known amongst his teammates with the Springfield Junior Blues, but as a matter a fact, the entire North American Hockey League (NAHL). The kid has arrived.
When you see him on or off the ice, you can tell just by looking at him he's got the phyiscal fit to be what we call a hardcore "banger" in the sport of hockey. He's got the phyiscal body size that can most definentely scare an opponent, a dangerous shot, and just flat out knows what to do with and without the puck.
Cook, who will be turning twenty years young in May of 2012, has already signed a letter of content to go play D1 hockey following this season. Following this season, Cook will be attending the University of Mercyhurt College, which is D1 hockey in the Atlantic Hockey division.
Cook is currently in his second season in the NAHL. He spent the first four games of his career with the St. Louis Bandits--before he was traded and now his previous two seasons with us here in Springfield with the Junior Blues.
In his rookie season for the Bandits (St. Louis) before he was traded, he only appeared in four games--notching just four shots on goal, and 0 points to go along with it. After the trade to Springfield, he appeared in 51 games, and notched a total of 21 points with eleven goals and ten assists--not to mention that the team was +10 with him on ice.
As for this season, through only 22 games played, the kid is showing improvement, raw talent, and a big-time prospect for any level of hockey (and yes, that means the NHL--he's that good). He has already scored a team-leading eleven goals and added in fifteen assists through them twenty-two. He has both five power play goals, and power play assists thus far, and the team is +3 with him on the ice.
The kid is only going to get better with time. In the last five games before the Thanksgiving break, he totaled together seven points with three goals, and three assists. He scored two goals in the Janesville' game on the 11th of November, while the night before he notched three assists.
Kyle Cook. Remember the name. The kid is a stud, and he has the intangables, talent, and potential to do big things in the sport of hockey at any level that the kid's will desires him too. If you haven't heard of the kid yet, nor seen him play, i'd advise you to do so as soon as possible. The kid is full of raw talent and is a big-time prospect.
