With turkey day coming up in just under twenty-four hours, it's officially time to focus on the things that we are all thankful for, in each and every single way. Whether it be being thankful for your family, friends, your job, our own american soldiers, your hobbies--or even for your sports teams, including our Springfield Junior Blues.
Although being thankful should be something that you are twenty-four-seven, this one day is reserved for it. Myself, I've grown up in Springfield, Illinois for basically my entire life, and the Junior Blues have been apart of me since I was a youngin', so-to-speak.
I have never been much of a hockey player myself, outside when I was toddler playing roller-hockey outside my house with my boys, but watching the NHL (Saint Louis Blues) and the Junior Blues have always been a passion and something that I have deeply enjoyed. From the days of Greg Rallo, a Junior Blues great, til the current days, I have always loved this team.
Although I have been to a few games every now and then over the last couple of seasons, I must admit that I haven't paid as much attention to the team, atleast stats wise and players wise, but that is a reason I am excited to run this blog. I love writing about sports, it's been a huge passion of mine ever since I could really understand exactly how professional sports worked--and that was a pretty long time ago.
Growing up here in Springfield, most people know that there isn't much going on around here. We did used to have the minor league affliated Springfield Cardinals', but we seen how that whole thing ended.
The one thing that I must admit throughout this article, I will say that I am very thankful for the Springfield Junior Blues. Win, lose, draw, this team is very exciting and most definetely a bond that brings the city together atleast for sixty-minutes per contest. I'm not really considering this an open letter to the Junior Blues, but I will say you kids are a pleasure to watch. Me, myself, and I, as well as the entire city of Springfield is thankful for the Junior Blues.
This is an unofficial blog of the Springfield Jr. Blues' NAHL hockey team based in Springfield, Illinois. Tyler Cobb is the name, and i'm here to bring you anything and everything about the Jr. Blues hockey. This is my first official blog that I will be doing locally. I will be giving you game previews, game recaps, my own analysts, and much more. Feel free to critisize at your own pleasure. Thanks for the support. Let's Go Blues!! (This is Tyler Cobb's official blog on the Blues). Thank you!
