The Springfield Junior Blues rallied back from down two goals in the final minutes of regulation before knocking off the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings in a shootout, 3-to-2 on Friday night in a North American Hockey League game inside the Nelson Center. Kalamazoo came out of the gates firing as they netted two goals in the first-period behind the likes of Anthony Appleyard and Jacob McDowell--and that was it, until the third period. Entering the final twenty-minutes or regulation, Kyle Cook netted a puck between the pipes--and three minutes later, so did Jordan Johnson. Following a scoreless five minute-overtime, the Junior Blues outscored the visiting opponents, 3-to-2, and captured the win. Head coach Joe Dibble awarded Gabe Antoni his debut behind the net, and he didn't disappoint. In his first game between the pipes, he allowed just two goals on 34 shots at him. With the win, Springfield moved into a tie for third place.
