Chris Sitler has earned the nickname "Mr. Do-It-All", and deservingly so. |
While many people believe the kid is too small, his abilities continue to become bigger and bigger--and now the entire NAHL is starting to recognize it.
Standing in at just five feet-six inches tall and one-hundred and eighty pounds, the size hasn't slowed him down against many--and what most people don't put into consideration, the kid just turned nineteen years old a little over a month ago. Think age don't matter? Just check the resumes for past' NAHL stars.
Following his first season in the NAHL, Sitler posted numbers similar to what he has posted thus far this season--only difference? He did it last season in fifty-six games--as for this season? Just thirty-one.
In 56 games last season, Chris tallied a total of 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists), and was +7 on the ice. He scored seventeen times on 106 shots on goal, and he also scored eight powerplay goals.
As for this season, he has played in all thirty-one games for the Jr. Blues and has scored twelve goals on eighty-six shots. He is currently third on the team in points and has assisted twenty-one goals for Springfield, which is a category that he currently leads the team in.
Entering the Friday night contest on the road against Topeka, Sitler currently holds a seven game point-streak. During the streak he has combined to put up ten points for the Jr. Blues, including a three assists' night on December 11th against the Chicago Hitmen in a 7-4 win, while the night before that he scored two goals in another win against Chicago.
Sitler has been a huge bright spot this season for head coach Joe Dibble and his Jr. Blues. He seems to get better and better as he continues to get more time on the ice--and with his current streak still going on, many people are starting to look at the kid more and more around the league.
He is currently being talked about as one of the most-underated players in the league today and has put up atleast one point in eleven of Springfield's last fourteen games (as well as the seven straight). If there is one thing that is certain about this kid, he has become "Mr. Do-It-All" for the Jr. Blues in Springfield.
